Looking for the floor for the new rug

Fist of all, I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately for the people out there that keep up with me, lets just say it has been crazy at work this week.

So even though I had to clean the craft room when I painted the room,  lets just say the mess came back.  So bad where I couldn't walk by the room any more.

So finally I cleaned again, got rid of anything that I don't need or use, and the rest put it in boxes and tucked in the closets for the moment.

Even captain American, made it in here.
Pillows, sheets, you name it, this room usually endes up being the junk room as we come through the garage door to the hall way.

I had three boxes and bags full with trash by the time I was done.

I have a lot of frames that I buy at goodwill with the intention of painting them and hanging them with pictures down in my hall way.

But I never get to do it, so for now I put them all together in the closet.

Along with a bunch of pictures and albums I have.

Other stuff in general.
Wedding dress at the end of the closet if you can see.

So finally you can see the floor once again.

Pictures suck, I know I'm sorry.

Also the reason why I really made the effort of cleaning the floor is because I finally found a rug for the room that is cheap and I mean cheap for a 5 x 7.

I was looking at Urban Outfitters like I do every once in a while to see what they had on sale, and I just happen to run upon a rug that has the color skin I am going for, and I was also looking for one.

They had the general size I was thinking of getting but I didn't want to pay crazy money for it.
So when I saw the price and size and color, I was determined to get it.

It was only $30 bucks for a 5 x 7 which always go for more than $150 at most places even here, and I was lucky they still had that size, so I went ahead and bought it, and waited patiently for it to come in. Once it did I ran to lay it down (not really)

At first I laid it horizontally, buy I didn't like that the chair couldn't run over it when it was taken out from under the desk, and it just seemed smaller this way.

So, I went ahead and laid it vertically and it just looked better, and the chair wasn't getting stuck with the rug, I have enough space to move freely.

And I totally love the colors and texture of the rug it's easy to clean mostly in a craft room.

It has the oranges, and pinks but also a hint of yellow orangiest and red with some natural fibers.
Which doesn't seem to girly (even though I love girly). I love the plain strips that don't look to busy.

I will show this side of the room since it the one that has the most decorating stuff in the room (still working on stuff) I still have lots to hang and add.

In a way I'm glad  I stayed with the semi white walls because everything pops against it and it doesnt look to matchy matchy (I think)

Here you can see how I have space to roll in and out from the desk without rolling up the rug every time I try to get out.

Well I hope everyone is liking the way everything is coming out is still a work in progress but I have come far from where I first started.

I sure am happy with my barging find of a good $30 dollars rug that I absolutely love, and didn't just seattle for the price.

What ya think of the new rug and how everything is coming out?

have a great day everyone.

A Little Cork For Your Chalk

It's Friday,

I hope you're as a exited about it as me, my dear friends are coming over to make t-shirts, you might ask why? Well were going on a group vacation to Orlando, Florida in exact two weeks, and were going to some of the theme parks. We thought it be cool if we had some matching shirts to wear to Disney, they guys are out of the equation,  they don't want to be part of the matching shirt clan.

Anyways that's what my weekend is going to consist of, oh and also keep working on the craft room, I'm really moving along.

Well back to my post.
So you remember my chalk board right?

Well, I'm glad you do if not, go to the link of how it came to be.

I have to tell you it really has become handy, because it helps us keep up with bills, and I write things I need throughout the week that I might forget about later, if I don't write them down at the moment.
Now, the problem I'm still having is that I might have some coupons for some of my groceries, or some that I need to use before they expired, but sometimes I need them to be visible for me to remember to use them, but I still hadn't done anything about it until I went to IKEA about two weeks ago (I think).

Well at IKEA they had some cork circles and I thought they were really cute and for only two dollars I knew I was gonna used them for one thing or another.

So I thought to add them to the chalk board to pin stuff next to it.

The package had three cork circles, and I also had some picture hanging strips. I did not want to nail them to the wall or make any type of hole in the walls just in case I would want to change it later on.

So, I just added them to the back of each circle.

I went a head and added the wall back to them too so I wouldn't  have to try to mach them together once they were on  the wall.

It was pretty easy adding them, I didn't even measure them I guess I could of had, but they look fine.

What do you think, I really like how they look, they add a little more texture to the wall, while being handy.
Now I'm able to add coupons,  pictures, or some other thing that I night need to remember.

(Sorry the picture is a little blurry)

My little yellow vintage car is helping with the cargo of holding pins

Is not much, but some times like they say, the little things are the ones that makes the difference.
I hope you like it, and I also hope ya have a great weekend, I'm looking forward to sharing some t-shirts with you next week.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Some Closet Organizing

Hello ladies,

I'm not sure if everyone feels the same way about what I'm going to talk about, but we will see. The thing is that I love to have my house clean, but some times you just get behind or get LAZY about it, or sometimes you just clean but don't really organize closets, clothes, pantry and etc. Well I'm that way, I clean but I am not really organized, BUT it gets to a point that I just get frustrated because I can't find anything, and it's everywhere.

That's the case with my closet. Now my closet is not fancy, my husband and I share the same closet, belive it or not his clothes is more picked up than mine, but the only reason why that's possible is because he doesn't change as much as me, or takes him ten outfits to decide which one he wants to wear.

Anyways I finally took the time to organize my closet, I didn't buy anything even though I should buy a lot of containers to store t-shirts and other stuff, but for now all I need it was to be able to find clothes and shoes hahah.

So this is how it used to look.

Shoes everywhere, clothes on the floor, unfolded clothes everywhere and clothes not hanging from the hangers right.

I like to color coordinate my clothes but after a while I just hang them everywhere, or mix all my clothes, shirts with skirts for example.

I also have a habit of trying one shoe of each when I'm gonna wear hills and my mirror is out side of my closet, so the ones I don't wear they just end up in my room and not back in my closet.

I definitely need more shoe storage, I put all my sandals, flats and tennis shoes in another closet out in the hall way since there is not enough space.

I also need to organized my jewelry since I have it everywhere too, some here, some in my restroom, some all over the house hahah.

After about two hours I finally got everything cleaned up, from putting dirty clothes to wash, to looking for the matching pairs to a lot of my shoes, to also hanging a lot of clothes.
I hang all my clothes by categories and colors, or at least I tried.

I looked for a few plates or something to be able to organized my jewelry, I already had some in here but I went trough a few of my kitchen stuff see what I could use.

I had this cute white ceramic shell, which was good to organized my earrings

I got this one at world market where I put my rings and watch, I was wearing my ring.

I also had this cheese tray, or at least that's what I would use it for, which I got at Goodwill, and used it for some of my perfumes.

It was funny while I was cleaning I found this envelope that my husband gave me before our honey moon, I thought it was cute so I kept it, I need to get a frame for it. It's a little personal but I think is something cute to see as I'm getting ready.

Here's a close up.

For now I just hanged it like this

I also organized all my shoes and looked for the matching pair to all of them

I have a lot of ideas for my closet to have more storage, but that's in the future and is not one of my priorities at the moment.

Now, doesn't it look a lot more neater, It makes me wanna be in there a lot more when it's clean.

All those t-shirts are not all over the place anymore. lets see how long that last

While I was folding all those t-shirts I fond a few from when I was in High school that I haven't wore in a long time already, but they bring back a lot of memories.

I didn't bother with my husbands clothes trying to organized it by colors since he doesn't really care ahha.
I also think he has a lot more shirts than me, but is because he never wants to get rid of any and always buys more. I try to get rid of the ones I don't wear after a while, mostly when I buy new ones.

The bottom is more on the empty side, I was washing a lot of our jeans and his shorts.

I don't have many skirts, but the ones  I do have, I sure wear them a lot.

I love to wear bright colors, so I try to have a lot of colors in my clothes more than black.

One thing I do have a lot is cardigans, I love to wear them with dresses, even though is hard to do that here in Houston with this heat.

One thing I really need to get is matching hangers I hate all the different hangers, mostly the metal ones, they make clothes look messy.

I know a lot of you have super organized closets, and maybe one day mine will be like that too, but  for now a good cleaning makes a big difference, maybe some paint later on, new hangers and some box storage will be good, but I am happy. I didnt have to spend any money for this project. What about you, do you organize your closet all the time, or is it a mess just like mine.
